How One Li'l Sticker Reduced my Nosedives by 90%
It's hard to believe one sticker improved my surfing massively, but it did.
You see, I was going through a phase where my surfing seemed to be getting worse, not better. I was struggling for weeks. I wasn't catching waves, so I'd move inside, or I'd scoot forward a bit on my board, and then I'd nosedive. So I'd move outside, and miss waves. And so on.
Finally, I set up some one on one time with my coach, and we made some adjustments. Mostly my positioning on the board. We had adjusted this previously, but it seems I had taken it a bit too far. This, and some other improvements meant it was time to readjust.
Now I'm a visual learner, and I use visual references for just about everything. I typically use a board's logo as a visual reference for where to position myself on the board. And most board logos are pretty huge. Which means lining up with it can be a little fuzzy.
